If you are hoping to create and outdoor oasis in your yard this summer, you will find a ton of options when it comes to furniture. But, several companies are offering some tantalizing features with their products.
While I love the look of wood furniture on the patio (think of those timeworn painted Adirondack chairs), the on-going maintenance of those pieces isn’t always so appealing. Thankfully, we have another option. There are several furniture companies creating their products out of recycled plastic milk jugs – yes, milk jugs! Not only are these products maintenance-free, weather-proof, beautiful, sustainable, well-made and splinter-free, they are also made in the good ol’ US of A. Hard to beat that combination.
By The Yard is a company based in Jordan, MN. They offer outdoor furniture with a traditional look, including classic Adirondack chairs. Portable bars, pub tables and stools, gliders and dining furniture round out their products. They’ve been around for decades and are still a family-owned operation.
Polywood, based in Indiana, also recycles plastic jugs to create their furniture. Their collection includes both traditional and contemporary styles in 6 colors.
For more contemporary styles and trendy colors, check out Loll Designs, based in Duluth, MN. They make pieces under their own name, but also create pieces for Room & Board and Design Within Reach. Their line of children’s furniture is fun, too.
All of these products are meant to give their owners many years of maintenance-free enjoyment. (Did I mention they are maintenance-free?) Next time you are in the market for patio furniture, be sure to check out the products from these companies. They offer something you just won’t find at every big box store!Pin It
