Color Trend: Going Gray

I don’t know if you have noticed, but wood tones are going a little gray nowadays.  If you have had your fill of espresso and chocolate finishes, this may be just the change to trip your trigger.

This table from Room and Board features a new finish called Shell.  It is also available in Charcoal, which is also gray but much darker.  Both tables are made of maple.

Restoration Hardware has also gone gray, but not always with wood.  This Dining Cabinet is made from sheet and cast iron!  The black/gray finish blends well with both warm and cool hues.

RH Iron Furniture

This dining collection from West Elm is made from reclaimed shipping pallets, featuring a weathered gray finish.

Here is an example of gray moving to the floor; this product is made by Armstrong.  Wood flooring finishes are taking on a gray hue, in finishes such as mushroom, gray, black and charcoal.  While they work in traditional spaces, they are equally at home in modern settings.
