Before & After: Summery Side Table

Before & After: Summery Side Table

A fun, easy project for your next summer weekend…

I found this little table at a garage sale, and I LOVED the turned, twisty legs.  I did NOT like the dreary, drab, peeling finish.  So, I got to work.

First, I sanded the top and bottom with my trusty Black & Decker Mouse sander (best tool ever), just to rough up the surface – super fast.  Next, after wiping the entire table down with a damp rag to get rid of the dust, I used Zinsser Bullseye Primer over all of it.  You actually don’t even have to sand the finish with this primer, but I did anyway.  Just because.

Two coats of paint in this fabulous aqua color, and viola!  Instant summer on a table.  I love to use a punchy, fun color on a small furniture piece like this.  It adds such character and personality to a room without overdoing it.  Give it a try – and, don’t skimp on the color!
