I’m not sure if these photos will come through to you or if they are even the right ones! I haven’t tried posting pics like this before. They are of a free standing fireplace I have stored for years just because I love it. Now I am remodeling a bath and would love to use it converted to gas or electric. What I am wondering, is the style this stove is supposed to reflect French Country, or English, or something else? Thanks, Cheryl

Hi, Cheryl! I can’t get to the photos, but you are welcome to email them to me at teri@alittledesignhelp.com and I’d be happy to take a look and post my response. I’ll post the pics for others to see, too. Thanks for stopping by!

Teri, I’ve looked at the pieces you’ve done on window treatments for bay windows, but I have a question…

Our bay window is mostly window, with very little frame. Because we get A LOT of sun through these windows (they faces south-east), we’d love to put blinds (horizontal) on each window panel (or whatever you call them).

Okay, my question – Is there such a thing as blinds that attach on the “ceiling” of the bay window & come down? We just don’t have room for attaching anything at the top of the windows.

    • Teri says:

Absolutely! Most shades can be installed that way. You want to make sure the brackets will allow for a “ceiling mount” since that is essentially what you are doing. Depending on the treatment, sometimes the brackets are the same (just turned differently) and sometimes a special bracket needs to be ordered – just ask when you place your order.

Also, keep in mind the angles when planning your treatments. The smaller your blinds (the depth of the vanes), the closer they will fit to each other – leaving smaller light gaps at the edges. So, you may want to look at a 1″ vane versus a 2″ or larger vane for best results. The same is true with pleated or honeycomb shades – the smaller pleats will fit more tightly together.

I hope that doesn’t confuse you! It makes sense in my head…then I try to explain it in writing. 🙂 When in doubt, have a pro measure for you. Or, use 2 index or business cards, fit them into the angles where two panels come together (where you will be installing the shades), staple them together, and you have a template of your angles. Do that for each angle and bring them with you to the store.

I hope that helps! Thanks for stopping by!
